Your Impact

As an Engineering Manager in Axon’s Information Security organization, you will lead and grow a team of security engineers dedicated to reducing risk across our product portfolio. This role is about enabling engineers to deliver scalable, secure systems and empowering development teams across Axon to embed security into their workflows.

You will combine strong technical leadership with people management, helping engineers grow in their careers while ensuring Axon’s security posture continues to mature. You’ll partner with product engineering, IT, and other security teams to build secure-by-default systems, automate security workflows, and stay ahead of emerging threats.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about leading technical teams, solving complex security challenges at scale, and balancing security with developer productivity and speed.

What You’ll Do

Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh Office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Reports to: Senior Manager of Product Security
Direct Reports: Security Engineers

Lead & Grow Teams
Manage, coach, and mentor engineers across one or more InfoSec domains (AppSec, cloud security, security automation, detection engineering).
Build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture that values transparency, candor, and continuous improvement.

Drive Security Engineering Excellence
Set technical direction in partnership with senior engineers, balancing execution speed with long-term risk reduction.
Champion automation of security workflows and tooling to scale protection across products and platforms.
Guide teams in embedding security into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and development processes.

Partner & Influence
Work closely with product engineering teams to design secure-by-default architectures and reduce vulnerabilities early.
Collaborate with Security Operations, Compliance, and IT to drive cross-functional security initiatives.
Translate technical risk into business context for stakeholders and influence priorities at scale.

Measurable Security Impact
Oversee vulnerability management processes and ensure timely remediation of high-risk issues.
Establish metrics and reporting that demonstrate improvements to Axon’s security posture.
Lead the team to deliver early wins and long-term initiatives that strengthen security while enabling innovation.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in software or security engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.
  • Strong technical background in at least one InfoSec domain (application security, cloud security, DevSecOps, detection engineering).
  • Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and retaining top talent.
  • Hands-on understanding of modern development workflows (CI/CD, Git-based version control, cloud-native systems).
  • Familiarity with secure SDLC practices, vulnerability management, and security automation tooling.
  • Ability to drive technical decision-making while empowering engineers to lead.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex security concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A leadership style that values empathy, inclusion, transparency, and growth.
