Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

⭐Our People  team

Monzo is expanding in the EU and we're on the lookout for a People Operations Associate to join us and support our expansion across multiple EU countries. This role reports to the EU People Lead and is part of Monzo’s Global People Collective.

The People Operations team creates excellent employee experiences by designing and running reliable core people processes. We enable employees and managers by providing timely, accurate and user-friendly information and we own core People Systems making us the guardians of data accuracy and compliance.

Each day will be different, and you'll learn a lot about the inner operations of how a People team works. The People lifecycle covers everything from the point someone is onboarded to offboarding and everything in between. You’ll support owners of the people lifecycle to make sure we provide the best service to those in our internal community.

This role also includes vital people advisory responsibilities, where you will work to support managers in confidently navigating various employee relations (ER) issues, ensuring fairness and consistency in line with Monzo’s People Policies.

Ultimately, this role is key to ensuring seamless people processes, maintaining compliance, and providing essential support across Monzo, particularly as we expand our EU operations.

🔑You’ll play a key role by...

  • Owning  End-to-End Employee Lifecycle Administration: Administer employee lifecycle changes (joiners, moves, offboarding) and manage core processes (benefits, leave, contracts, references).
  • Providing Frontline People Advisory: Act as the first point of contact for Monzonaut queries and support EU Managers in navigating standard employee relations (ER) issues (e.g., performance, absence, grievances).
  • Managing Local Policy & Compliance: Develop and localise People policies and procedures, ensuring ongoing compliance with local EU jurisdictions and standards.
  • Monitoring Legislative Change: Proactively stay informed of legislative changes and industry trends, making recommendations for policy and process adaptation across the EU.
  • Designing & Improving Core Processes: Collaborate with the wider People Operations team to design, re-work, and continuously improve core people processes for the expanding EU structure.
  • Overseeing Data Integrity and Compliance: Proactively analyse and audit People data to ensure accuracy and completeness within people systems.
  • Supporting Project Execution: Support People-wide projects across all functions (Reward, Hiring, etc.).
  • Administering Learning & Development and Regulatory Training: Manage the administration and roll-out of local mandatory and regulatory training programs across EU jurisdictions.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have experience working across different EU jurisdictions
  • You're excited by the opportunity to contribute to building EU-relevant people policies and processes, ensuring compliance and a great experience for our Monzonauts as we grow.
  • You have great prioritisation skills. We deal with a high volume of queries and tasks each day with varying levels of importance and different service level agreements (SLAs) to meet.
  • You have great attention to detail. We’re making system changes and issuing contracts and reference letters which have to be right first time.
  • You have strong communication skills. We’re the first point of contact to our Monzonauts for all things People related and provide a delightful experience.

Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply— even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!
